2010 Club Meeting Schedule

The Nacogdoches Scrabble Club (www​.old​town​scrab​ble​.com) meets on the sec­ond Sunday of each month (for now, at least) from 3:00 to 6:00 at Java Jacks in Nacogdoches, TX: 1122 North Street, Nacogdoches, TX 75961 – 4482, (936) 559‑9350.  We meet upstairs.  Click HERE for a map.  Here are the dates through the end of the year:

For those inter­ested in get­ting involved in run­ning the club, please con­tact me – although I don’t know what will be involved yet.  A few comments:

1) Purpose of the Club: To pre­pare mem­bers for tour­na­ment play, even­tu­ally host a tour­na­ment here in Nacogdoches, start a Scrabble team and/or club at the local mid­dle schools and/or high school, make friends, have some fun play­ing Scrabble, etc.

2) Club Rules: 25-minute chess clock, record scores, bin­gos and inter­est­ing plays, loose tour­na­ment match­ing – we will play three rounds, pos­si­bly four if time per­mits, win­ners will be paired with win­ners in each con­sec­u­tive round when pos­si­ble; high scores, bin­gos, inter­est­ing plays, and unde­feated play­ers will be announced in a club newslet­ter or post on this site after each meet­ing – see http://​old​town​scrab​ble​.com/​1​3​/​0​5​/​e​x​a​m​p​l​e​-​n​e​w​s​l​e​t​t​er/ for an exam­ple newslet­ter).  Things will be pretty loose the first few times we meet.

3) Dues & Equipment: No dues until January 2011, bring your own equip­ment (if you can), I’ll bring extra boards (but the extra sets are cheap and arten’t suit­able for com­pet­i­tive play).
